Last year in Australia, 191* people died while doing their jobs and over 106,000 people made a claim for a serious injury. Why not take a minute to make sure your workers don’t become one of these statistics?
October is National Safe Work Month, and this year’s theme is “a moment is all it takes”.
In particular, falls are a major cause of death and serious injury in Australian workplaces. Risks exist wherever work is carried at height, whether it’s working on a roof, unloading a large truck or accessing silos.
Protecting workers at heights can be a complex and time-consuming task and that’s why we manage the entire process for our clients. The good news is that a few simple steps can make a huge difference.
In the spirit of National Work Safe month, take a few moments to:
- Make the call to organise a height safety audit to check risks and compliance. That’s all it takes to be on the road to recertify or update systems if needed – and enjoy ongoing peace of mind.
- Check that your height safety PPE is up to date.
- Check your training needs and book in quality training for all those working at heights.
Of course, all year round it’s the everyday moments of forethought and awareness that are crucial. It could be as simple as spending five minutes every morning talking with your team about the hazards and risks in your workplace, and how to prevent harm.
As industry leaders, we are passionate about helping building owners and managers to work safer and smarter while minimising long-term risks and liabilities – whether they are responsible for 20 or 200 buildings.
We work across Australia, providing audits and inspections, customised height safety solutions, safety equipment and installation, recertification and maintenance. We also provide Work Safely at Heights training.
Want to take a few life-changing moments for your business? We’d love to talk to you today about a total care approach to height safety for your business or Council.
